Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) continued to deliver on its promise of innovation that excites with a recently concluded 2017 Nissan GT-R test drive event in Clark, Pampanga. The two day event highlighted the enhancements in the 2017 Nissan GT-R’s comfort and ride with a road test, while showcasing the unmatched driving prowess of the iconic super sports car during a track test at the Clark International Speedway.

"The 2017 Nissan GT-R delivers a heart-pounding driving experience at all times to anyone who rides it," Ramesh Narasimhan, NPI President and Managing Director, said.  "Be it as a driver or passenger, the latest enhancements in the iconic super sports car, backed by its rich racing history, brings the experience to a different level. Truly, this latest iteration of the Nissan GT-R is a testament to the boldness and excitement that the Nissan brand embodies.”

The 2017 Nissan GT-R strikes the perfect balance between the comfort of “GT” or Gran Turismo, and the exhilarating driving performance of “R” or racing technology. The 2017 Nissan GT-R is a more mature version of its predecessors, delivering a more refined premium ride.

A buff beast that wears its power underneath a more luxurious, sophisticated suit, the Nissan GT- R is powered with a 3.8-liter 24-valve, twin turbocharged V6 pumping out a prodigious 570 PS and equally immense 637 NM of torque. To ensure a smoother ride, the Nissan GT-R is redesigned with a more rigid body structure along with a new suspension.

Inside, luxury and efficiency goes hand in hand with the choices of reengineering the cabin layout and materials used.  With features such as a dash cover that uses aniline leather, simplified cockpit with fewer controls and next-generation Multi-Function Display, relocated and redesigned paddle shifters, down to retuned acoustics that reduces unwanted noise while allowing the signature pure sound of the GT-R engine, all combine to elevate the driving experience to a new thrilling level like never before.

According to the Nissan GT-R’s Chief Product Specialist, Hiroshi Tamura, “You can concentrate more on your driving."  He likened the Nissan GT-R to “a sleeper”.

“The GT-R is like a sedan, but with a racing engine,” he said, explaining the duality of the super race car’s character.  With the award-winning VR38DETT engine as the heart of the beast, each unit is handcrafted and overseen by a Takumi master technician.  Such is the high level of craftsmanship and expertise that goes into each GT-R, that each engine proudly bears a plaque that is stamped with the name of the Takumi that hand built it.

When all elements come together, the Nissan GT-R provides a “smooth, sophisticated riding concept, but with feeling,” Tamura said.

The 2017 Nissan GT-R is available exclusively at the Nissan High Performance Center in Quezon Avenue, Quezon City and comes in Katsura Orange, Vibrant Red, Pearl Black, Ultimate Silver, Gun Metallic, Pearl White, and Pearl Blue.

The 2017 Nissan GT-R is available at a drive away price of Php 7,350,000. The drive away price includes the vehicle’s price and government taxes, plus miscellaneous cost including handling charges and accessories, ensuring the unit is ready for use upon release.
