Manila, Philippines (September 24, 2014) - Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI), the newly established national sales company tasked to market the brand in the country, made a rousing statement at the recently concluded 5th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) with the launch of the much-awaited all-new Nissan X-Trail complemented by a presentation of the entire Nissan lineup throughout the 4-day event.

Having just turned a year old, NPI has already made great strides in the motoring industry by launching three new models this year, the New Nissan Sylphy, New Nissan Altima, and the all-new Nissan X-Trail which graced the said motor show. The Nissan vehicle display line-up also included the brand’s best-selling global sedan, the Almera, the New Patrol Super Safari with its new intercooled and turbocharged 3.0L engine.

The All-New Nissan X-Trail

First introduced in 2003, the X-Trail is a compact Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) that has long been the choice of many Filipinos because of its versatility, design and capability.

It has seen tremendous success through two generations in key markets around the world including the Philippines. Now, Nissan brings in the third and latest generation of the Nissan X-Trail making the launch at PIMS one of the first in the ASEAN region.

The all-new X-Trail, built and assembled in Nissan’s Kyushu plant in Japan, comes with a commanding presence very few in its segment can match. It mixes stunning bold lines on a muscular body to create a look that can only be matched by the X-Trail’s stunning on- and off-road performance.

Sporting a more modern crossover look, the all-new X-Trail adopts the V-motion front grille design to boost the brand’s visual presence. It now has LED daytime running lights and stylish new boomerang-shaped tail lamps that stylishly bookends the best-looking X-Trail yet.

Its on-road performance is undoubtedly one of the best in the segment and now with a 210 mm ground clearance, the all-new X-Trail gives you that extra confidence needed for your next off-road adventure or to simply conquer the next enhanced monsoon rain.

Built with the customer in mind, the all-new X-Trail comes standard with a Push Engine Start System and an Eco Mode Meter that uses an Ambient Lamp, a Pedal Guide and an ECO Evaluation system to ensure that you are as fuel-efficient as possible.

The all-new X-Trail is not just better; it literally is a lot bigger. The cabin offers a variety of configurations - 40:20:40 on the second row with slide function and 50:50 on the third row - to accommodate your active lifestyle or your family of seven. Doors swing as wide as 80 degrees for easier loading and unloading.

“We are proud to launch the all-new X-Trail at PIMS because it is a model highly anticipated by Filipino fans. It’s sleek, stylish, comfortable and loaded with a lot of new features that shows Nissan’s brand of innovation,” said Antonio Zara, President and Managing Director of NPI.

The all-new X-Trail comes in Pearl White, Diamond Black, Brilliant Silver, Fiery Red and a Special Copper Blaze edition available in 4x4 variant. It comes in two trims; the top of the line is a 4WD powered by a 2.5L engine producing 171 PS, 233 Nm of torque and boasts of an infotainment system with a 5-inch LCD display. The 2WD variant has a 2.0L engine that puts out 144 PS and 200 Nm of torque. Both models use Nissan’s XTRONIC Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with manual mode.

Nissan will make the third generation X-Trail available in showrooms by November 2014.
