MANILA, Philippines—Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI), in partnership with Habitat for Humanity-Philippines, recently held the formal turnover of its donated houses to the community of Bistekville 5 in Payatas, Quezon City. The turnover ceremony marks the completion of the house building and donation initiative that began last December 2015.

The turnover was led by Habitat for Humanity Philippines President, Mr. Charlie Ayco and representatives from the QC Mayor's Office and the Housing and Community Development and Resettlement Affairs (formerly the Urban Poor Affairs Office), as well as by NPI President and Managing Director, Ramesh Narasimhan.

“When we started working with Habitat for Humanity, we pledged to help Filipinos to realize their dream of having their own home. Today, we are here to make that dream in a concrete reality for the families of Bistekville 5,” said NPI President and Managing Director, Ramesh Narasimhan.

Four houses were built by NPI for the community of Bistekville 5. The donation is Nissan’s final activity in its current partnership with Habitat for Humanity Philippines, which began with a contract signing and donation of two vehicles, the Nissan Navara and NV350 Urvan to support the organization’s home restoration efforts. The partnership also saw Nissan employees, dealer partners, and journalists participate in a shelter rebuild drive last August 2015 to Oras, Samar to build and donate homes for victims of Typhoon Ruby.
